Open Question: What happened to the Entertainment Centre in Perth, Western Australia?

It's been bugging me for years. I remember seeing the Hot Shoe Shuffle at the Entertainment Centre when I was a kid, but it's been closed for years now and nobody has done anything with the building. There aren't really any other decent venues in Perth for concerts and things (Burswood doesn't count 'cos the theatre is tiny and the dome is the biggest pain ever to get in and out of and has crappy seating). Are there plans for Perth to get a decent entertainment complex at some point in the foreseeable future? I thought that the Convention Centre might fulfill this purpose, but then it didn't. Then I thought that the thing currently being built next to the Entertainment Centre must be something along these lines, but I've recently been informed that it's going to be a huge indoor tennis court!
