Open Question: Can an Employer cancel a Visa once you have gained permanent Residency in Australia?

Me and my girlfriend are leaving our jobs in a month to go on a road trip in a campervan across Australia. We gained Permanent Residency in May 2011 through her work and she's now a little worried that once she tells her employer that she's leaving they'll be able to cancel/stop our permanent Residency somehow. We're going round in circles looking for an answer and Perth Immigration haven't been too much of a help. She's worked for them for approx 3.5 years, sponsored for 2 years and on Permanent Residency for 9 months. Will there be any conditions also for applying for Citizenship?
